March + April Favorites 2025
We made it to May! Hooray!
March and especially April always seem to pass us by so fast. Maybe it’s because it’s Aries season, an astrological sign with a lot of go go go energy, or maybe it’s because April is my birthday month and it’s always filled with fun stuff to do.
Here’s what I’ve enjoyed the past couple of months! This list may be a bit short because I haven’t tried too many new products or practices lately, mainly sticking to what I know and love already.
Let’s start with another song from one of my favorite bands, BRONCHO. I love love love this song!
Gua Sha
I bought a gua sha a few years ago when it first was trending online, but finally developed a routine to use it (almost) daily! Gua sha is a traditional Eastern Asian medicine technique in which the skin is scraped or massaged with a smooth-edged stone or instrument to promote circulation and reduce inflammation. It got trendy on TikTok in particular for its tendency to make the face look less puffy and more defined, and provide a lymphatic drainage.
When I use my gua sha tool, I feel like I’m taking care of myself. We’re all so busy and seemingly overwhelmed with everything going on in the world that I love that I can set aside an extra 5 minutes each morning to massage my face.
fresh Rose 7 Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer
I’ve talked about the brand fresh before, but I loooooveee this brand with my whole heart. I just can’t afford it all the time, lol. I was gifted a pot of their Deep Hydration Moisturizer and have been using it nonstop for the past two months. It does exactly as it states— it provides deep hydration with its thick and luxurious formula. It has a prominent yet light rose petal scent as well. I really feel like I’m giving myself a high-quality facial treatment at the spa. It’s pretty expensive, but so worth the price. I’ll be very sad once I’m done with this pot!
Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser
This cleanser is safe for sensitive skin as it is so gentle and efficient at cleaning my face. My skin isn’t necessarily sensitive, but I don’t like applying too many irritants, dyes, and ingredients that’ll cause a breakout or negative reaction. I love that it’s budget-friendly, too. It seems to be a dupe for the La Roche-Posay Toleraine Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser (which I also have lol), since their formulas seem very similar.
TheraBreath 24-Hour Healthy Gums Oral Rinse, Clean Mint
I love this mouthwash! It keeps my teeth and gums feeling clean and healthy. There’s a ton of TheraBreath mouthwash varieties, but this particular one has the active ingredient Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC), which helps reduce plaque, improves bad breath, and prevents gingivitis. Healthy teeth and gums mean a healthy and happy smile.
Almond Malk - Vanilla
This is one of those products I’ve seen on the shelves before, but never thought to buy it because it seemed too out of budget (why not get the cheaper almond milk??). I can verify that this milk is indeed worth its price. It tastes like… unrefined, pure almond milk. It’s free of gums, fillers, and extra additives; the ingredients are filtered water, organic almonds, and Himalayan pink salt. That’s it!
You can tell that this almost milk tastes substantially better quality than other, generic almond milk brands. In fact, my first impression was that it tasted very similar to regular cow’s milk. If you’re looking for an alternative to cow’s milk that reminds you of the taste of milk, I highly recommend trying Almond Malk.
DIY KFC Famous Bowls
Okay, real talk: is anyone else running out of ideas for meals to cook for lunch and dinner each week?? (I really have to think of something to cook for myself each week for the rest of my life?!). In a panic during one grocery store trip, wondering what to cook for dinner that evening, I came across the frozen chicken tenders section and bought a pack. Then, the idea came to me: why not combine these frozen chicken tenders, instant mashed potatoes, corn, and shredded cheese? BAM. I made my own DIY KFC Famous Bowl! Minus the gravy (I’m too impatient to wait for it to heat up on the stove lol).
These taste phenomenal and truly satisfy when one is starving and looking for a quick meal.
We have KFC Famous Bowls at home. The KFC Famous Bowl at home:
Platonic: How the Science of Attachment Can Help You Make—and Keep—Friends by Marisa G. Franco, PhD
If there is only one thing on this list that you take away and try, please let it be this book. I recently listened to this as an audiobook, and wowowow it is so enlightening and informative. The author, Dr. Franco, provides many tactics for making meaningful friends and connections, backing them up with easily digestible stories, examples, and scientific data. I was hooked on the audiobook from the start. I even want to purchase a physical copy to annotate and refer back to in the future.
We seem to be moving away from community, companionship, and commitment to one another. This book is a great tool for forming new bonds and connections to our community. There’s clearly a demand and desire for community and friendship as well; this audiobook consistently had 11+ people waiting to borrow the book after me on the Libby app.
That’s all we have on the blog this time!
What are some of your favorite things these past couple of months? Do we overlap anywhere? Let me know!
Same time next month? Until then, friends!
